The Power of Reset: Why Now Is the Perfect Time to Reclaim Your Life

This marks the midway point for the year. Can you believe it? As we approach the halfway mark of the year, many of us are reflecting on where we are compared to where we hoped we’d be. Some of us aren't reflecting at all. Some of us are simply operating the same programs and allowing more time to pass. We have stopped dreaming. I want to dare us all to dream again. Dream like the child we once were. Dream without restrictions or "what if's." Whether it’s in your health, business, relationships, or walk with God—maybe things haven’t gone quite as planned. And guess what? That’s okay. The best news is that it's never too late if we are still on this side of the earth, still have breath, and still have drive. If we are still living, we can still be dreaming.

One of the greatest gifts we’ve been given is the power to reset.

You don’t need a new year to start fresh. You don’t even need a Monday. What you need is a decision. A decision to stop replaying the past, release the guilt, and walk boldly into your next chapter. A decision to trust God’s grace more than your fear. A decision to reclaim your life. Every day is a chance to begin again. It doesn't matter what we haven't accomplished yet or who hasn't noticed us yet. Maybe we aren't getting the recognition we know we deserve. I have news for all of us - God recognizes us each day. He builds us. He knows the count of every hair on our heads. He created us in His purpose and for a calling much larger than people will ever see. All we have to be willing to do is walk into it all. It's time to reset. It's time to keep going. It's time to stop focusing on what we haven't accomplished and think about the possiblities of what is still in front of us. Our Goliath is waiting for us to show up.

I Know the Reset Well...

I’ve been through more “resets” than I can count—some planned, most not. From navigating military life and career transitions to caregiving, to recovering from injury and trauma, to enduring toxic patterns that were rooted in childhood, I’ve learned this truth: If you’re still breathing, God’s not finished. Our lives still holds immense purpose.

I get it. Sometimes the calling can be so great we aren't sure if we can fulfill it. Alone, we can't. With God, we can accomplish anything. The question is, will we keep falling back and hiding or will we finally begin taking scary, risky steps towards what we desire in life?

For a long time, I pushed and performed because I thought that’s what strong women do. But what I’ve learned in the healing journey is this: real strength is knowing when to pause, reevaluate, and reset with God’s direction—not just grit.

When I finally stopped forcing outcomes and started flowing with faith, that’s when clarity came. That’s when peace entered. That’s when I could truly begin to walk in purpose—not perfection.

3 Simple Questions to Ask Yourself Right Now:

  1. What area of my life feels out of alignment or unfulfilling?

  2. What am I holding onto that God may be calling me to release?

  3. Who do I need to become in this next season to truly thrive?

Take a few minutes this week to write your answers down. Pray over them. And ask God to guide you through your own powerful reset.

Jodi "Lady J" Watkins

I am a woman of faith, a leader, a mentor, and a lifelong student of growth. My journey has been filled with challenges, mistakes, and lessons that have shaped me into who I am today. While I cannot change my past, I can use it as fuel to empower others, create awareness, and help people break through the barriers holding them back.

I believe in the power of transformation—mentally, physically, and spiritually. Healing is a process, and true change happens when we surround ourselves with the right people and open ourselves up to the journey. Through my work as an author, speaker, and wellness coach, I share my story to inspire others to reclaim their lives, step into their greatness, and embrace the calling God has placed on them.

Writing has been one of my most powerful healing tools, and I now use this gift to help others find their voice, rewrite their narratives, and move forward with clarity and confidence. My passion is to collaborate with like-minded individuals who are ready to make an impact and create a better future for the next generation.

If you or someone you know is ready to take the next step in their journey, let’s connect. Together, we can do more, reach more, and change more lives.
