Burnout Isn’t the End—It’s the Invitation: Choosing Rest, Renewal, and Reconnection
In a world that glorifies hustle, burnout has become the unspoken badge of honor—especially for high achievers, parents, entrepreneurs, and leaders. But what if burnout isn’t a sign of failure… but an invitation?
What if it’s the gentle nudge—or sometimes the abrupt halt—that reminds us to choose differently?
For me, this is exactly what happened. I was all the things - high achiever, parent, entrepreneur, leader - it was great until it wasn't. I hit a brick wall. Society and most business coaches/mentors tell us to hustle and grind. If we aren't optimizing every moment of the day, we aren't doing enough. I adopted this philosophy for years - most of my life actually. I worked hard. I checked all the boxes. I did the things. Then, I hit that wall of burnout. What I realized is this: while I was doing the things that were required to get my business going and do life after the military, I wasn't taking care of the person I needed to be taking care of - me. In not taking care of me, I wasn't fully able to take care of those around me. I didn't realize the toll it all was taking on me until I ended up in a deep depression in 2019. This is where things started shifting for me. I have a daughter and she needed me. I needed me. I was relying on my own strength. This is where my journey of strengthening a muscle I slacked on - faith - began. While hustle and grind worked for a while, it left me empty. I felt like no matter how hard I worked, all I was doing was spending a lot of money I didn't have on programs to help me get further. The issue was I had no healed from the trauma I faced in my life. I wasn't able to lead effectively because I was still carrying weight of the past. Has anyone else ever felt like that?
Read on to see what I have learned over the years. This concept has taken me and my coaching to levels I never imagined. I am not meant to be burnt out and neither are you. We are meant to be lights in the dark world around us. We are meant for more. However, if we never pull back and redirect our focus, we will be left wondering where the time went and asking ourselves what we accomplished internally? It's not about the awards or external validation. Society wants us to rely on these things, but none of that gives us true fulfillment. It's about knowing that we are in tune with who we desire to be every day. It's learning to find harmony in all the things we do. It's not allowing others to dictate how we should run our businesses, but learning from others and finding those we have alignment with who we can gain wisdom and insight from.
Funny enough, the more I pulled back, the more I was able to move forward. I am no longer allowing others to force me into burnout. I am in tune with who I desire to be and what I desire my life to look like in all areas. Now, I can help others get there too. Burnout is a warning, not a weakness. It's letting us know that we need to take a pause and reset. Let's look at this more, along with other things I once thought was the way to operate. Now I know it's not. If you can relate to anything I have written so far, you're in the right place. Keep reading.
Burnout is a Warning Light, Not a Weakness
I’ve walked the path of exhaustion. I know the mental weight of spinning all the plates—trying to be everything for everyone while silencing the still, small voice within that whispers, “You’re not okay.” I used to mistake my inability to keep going as weakness. But now I know: it was wisdom trying to wake me up.
Burnout isn’t the end of the road—it’s the redirection.
It’s the invitation to pause. To breathe. To remember who you are beneath the pressure and titles. It’s your soul asking you to come home.
Hustle Culture Lied to Us
We were taught that being busy means being important. That if we aren’t constantly producing, we’re falling behind. But the truth is: God didn’t design us to be machines. He designed us to walk in purpose, not pressure. There’s a difference between productive and performing.
And here’s the kicker: what we tolerate becomes our normal. If stress and chaos are what we constantly live in, they start to feel like home. But home should be peace—not pressure.
The Power of a Sacred Yes and a Holy No
One of the most powerful things you’ll ever do is choose what’s for you—and let go of what isn’t.
Here's what I’ve learned:
A “yes” to everything is often a “no” to yourself.
You don’t have to be the hero in every story.
God honors rest. In fact, He created it.
“Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
— Matthew 11:28 (NIV)
Reconnection Begins With Stillness
I didn’t truly begin healing until I learned to surrender. When I finally stopped trying to force my plans and started asking God what He had for me, the peace I longed for began to find me.
For the past year, I’ve committed my mornings to Him—and let me tell you, it’s changed everything. I no longer start my day trying to control the outcome. I ask, “What would You have me do today?” That shift in posture has given me clarity, strength, and divine strategy I couldn’t have accessed any other way.
You Don’t Have to Do It Alone
Whether you’re building a business, raising a family, navigating trauma, or all of the above—you were never meant to carry it all alone. That’s why community matters. It’s why coaching, mentorship, and collective wisdom matter.
You can’t pour from an empty cup. But when you refill, when you reconnect, when you step back into alignment… everything changes.
This Is Your Invitation
You have a choice.
To keep running on empty.
Or to choose recovery, restoration, and renewal.
To step away from what’s draining you and toward what God is calling you to.
To stop hiding your pain and start healing your life.
You’re not broken. You’re becoming.

Final Thoughts
I didn’t get here alone. I’ve had mentors, coaches, and most importantly, divine encounters that carried me. You don’t have to stay in survival mode. It’s time to choose life. It’s time to choose rest. It’s time to choose YOU.
“Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”
— Galatians 6:9 (ESV)
Let’s Do This Together
Join us at the Choices Conference and in our Empowerment Collective where we walk the journey of healing, faith, and leadership together.
You were made for more—and that “more” doesn’t come through burnout. It comes through bold, Spirit-led choices.
What will you choose today?
I waited until I hit a brick wall. I am so stubborn that I ended up getting to the point of wanting to check out on life because of how burnt out I got. I don't want anyone else to have to wait that long. I hope you will allow me to assist you on your journey. Together, we can do more. Together, we are stronger. God is with us and He will NOT let us fail!
